Yeah, the rain spray adds just a little more sense of motion. Good rain photos are sweet. I love shooting mountain bike racing in the wet. The racers and spectators hate it. But it's the best for photos.
If you can get side on there's opportunities with the spray

Oh yeah, and without spray
I was using the light from the huge TV screen to illuminate the spray.
You can use the headlight from the car behind, and the spray of the car in front too.
