Rain can sure put a damper on things, but for those that stick it out it can also be very rewarding. Nice work Paul.
Don't forget about the Gallery. Are your photos there??

In the BTCC it also makes for "interesting" racing as well

Yeah, the rain spray adds just a little more sense of motion. Good rain photos are sweet. I love shooting mountain bike racing in the wet. The racers and spectators hate it. But it's the best for photos.

Oh yes, and in LMP you have the headlights to illuminate the car in front.

    Re: Rain & Racing

Oh, there's nothing like it !

If you can get side on there's opportunities with the spray
Here's a few examples of basically the same scene with different lighting.
    Oh yeah, and without spray

I was using the light from the huge TV screen to illuminate the spray.
You can use the headlight from the car behind, and the spray of the car in front too.

    Re: Rain & Racing

Rain can make some great shots and cars with lights look cool roaring along! It is not bad until the cars leave a wake. Or I flood a lens.

I really like the Audi with the vapor trail for some reason . . .
