    Reflections On A Car Show

Just east of San Diego is the suburban village of El Cajon. Downtown El Cajon sports the largest weekly car show in southern California; last evening was opening night of the 2009 Cajon Classic Cruise.

This shot, as if you couldn't tell, is a reflection off the window/side of one car looking at another and up Main Street in downtown El Cajon.

    Hope you like it.

Neat idea. Although I think that if there was more of the car in the reflection it would be a bit better.

I like how you stayed out of the reflection. How'd you do that?

    Gerald/Master Shake:

First, thanks for the comments. I cut off the front of the car on purpose, in order to include the framing of the window. I also thought it added to a bit of the distortion within the reflection. I stayed out of the reflection by getting off to one side and backed off a couple feet. I zoomed in enough to capture the distortion of the reflection and the view behind me up the street.

    Thanks again.

Thanks very much for the comment. I agree, it is by testing your skills to capture what you see that you can only become a better photographer. It is one thing to see the distortion and reflection in the window of one car, but quite another to line up a shot that recreates that perspective. I really thought this shot would receive more attention from our other participants. Lots of folks looked but only a couple thought it worthy of a comment. I appreciate you taking the time to leave a few words. It helps to hear what others thing.
