Great shot. Excellent expressions on the faces, and you did a great job getting the ball in frame as well.

That's a great photo. It really makes me feel for the goalie. That's a lot of chaos to deal with. Great catch!

How did you get that angle? What lens were you using and where were you shooting from?

When I shoot soccer I use 2 D3's one with the Nikon 70-200 f2.8. I got this shot with my Nikon 400mm f2.8 . I was standing near the opposite goal for this one. I used a circular polarizing filter due to the sun being on the right about 2/3rds of the way down. I hate that shadow on the right side of his face.

Do you think the brightness on the right side of his face is an issue?

I don't think so, the brightness can easily be taken care of with a local adjustment.
As can the white on the sleeve of the goal scorer - well, I assume he scored !

Do you shoot RAW so you have more latitude for adjustment, or JPG so you can publish them without conversion?

I shoot in RAW and have tried to remove the brightness on his face with no success . Is that a PS adjustment? I use APERTURE.

Lightroom has an area effect brush, which you can use for exposure adjustment.
    Does Aperture have the same?

Not that I could find. I am now trying various solutions with in Aperture to see if I can fix this all too frequent issue. This field has crazy lighting in the afternoon. makes for interesting challenges. I feel worse for the golfers, there is a driving range in the same complex and the golfers have to drive into the sun all afternoon.
