My first Otter and with lunch :)

Well maybe its not my first otter i shot a tame one a few years ago lol, this one is 100% wild and free. Was coming in for lunch today and my buddy spotted this one down in a creek . So you can imagine my delight only one thing its all down hill and in snow to get there. Well i was down there in a flash lol and then to my horror he dived ,i was just about to leave after about 5 minutes of no activity and up he comes and with lunch Mr frog he he have a few more pics but this one is about the best.

Wow Knight, that's an awesome shot. Portraits are nice, but catching them doing something, are even better. I envy you.

Knight, that is one terrific shot!

Everything about it is so wild - the frog in snow, the expression of the otter, the way he's holding the frog - love it!

Re: My first Otter and with lunch :)

    Great shot, with great timing!

You might want to play a little with cropping angles though. I think some off the right/top/bottom should help de-center the otter more, and have more space in front of it. Also maybe clone out the branch near the upper-right corner if it doesn't get cropped out.

Very nice job, Knight! And congrats on Weekly Featured Photo!

Smile Re: My first Otter and with lunch :)

Not only is this the best otter still I've seen, it's also a great success at capturing the lunchtime image of a frog as prey (not to be confused with play). I have respectable video of an otter in Alaska lying on its back in the water. But lacking any otter to catch a frog, I've never even seen one in the wild.
