    lonely tree

    Hi!

Please judge my 2 pictures below. From 1 to 6.
Thank you! Mostly composition, topic, are these pictures interesting or boring (I like them very much - don't know why).

    Thanks for your comments!

    Re: lonely tree

If you like them that is what's important.
For me the tree in the top photo is not separated enough from the background and though it is better in the second the centered tree composition does not work for me.
Most of all the green snow and sky don't work for me and I don't know if this is something you did in post processing or if your white balance is way off or its an exposure problem or what.,

    Re: lonely tree

Well, there's actually two trees and being that close together sort of merges them but not quite, leaving them in an odd state. I like how they're in an empty field. This draws attention to them. But the angle and composition isn't super exciting - maybe if you could get down low and shoot them more 'up' against the sky, with just a little of the background forest showing.. (maybe). As for the green tint, it's an experiment and a worthy one. Keep trying the creative stuff, else you'll end like me and make everything 'technically correct' .

I like the top one especially. Although I too am not a fan of the green cast. I think the top one would look great in a high contrast cool duotone.
If you don't mind folks editing your pics, I can show what I mean, in PS, and tell you what I did, so you can repeat it if you like how it turns out.

    Hi

Thanks for your comments. I will try to use them all somehow in future.
Of course my camera isn't any superb these days... (though I think it is also because someone switched on the filter there/something like that and I don't know how to get rid of it ).

Ok. But still apart from colours - composition and ideas are important.
Lonely tree isn't a specially big idea but more lonely trees can look very interesting to make a display here or there. Lonely tree in spring, summer, autumn, winter. Why not?

Of course first we have to find appopriate trees. I think the one presented above can be one of them.

In the meantime, I mean before I am not able to make a picture of spring, summer, autumn and winter lonely tree I would like to put here my next idea of photo report.

It is title is STICKING OUT ABOVE SNOW COVER

I know colours are botchy but what do you think about the idea? Is it interesting?

ps. Uhmm... the picture with grass with changed colours is really tragic . But the same pictures proccessed look much better. Really.
So to improve something one more photo. I think the best one:

    Re: lonely tree

    Out of 1 - 6?

Not because I don't like them. Not because I dislike the treatment of the subject. Not because the subject doesn't interest me. Not because I totally agree with Frog ... but because what you have posted are too small and insignificant to be valued. I can look at postage stamps on letters I receive.

When you like your artworks ... show them to the world. Make them larger ... give your works presence.

If you were dimentioning your works to 900 x 600 pixels, they would appear on my monitor very nicely. The images would have a degree of presence that these postage stamps don't display.

Then I'd be inclined to say, closer to say 6 than to zero.

When you are pound of your art, and deservedly so ... show it off Mate, Real artists aren't timid.

    Re: lonely tree

    Hello,

Thank for your comment! I don't think my pictures are close to 6. Depends on which. Some of them. Few, to be exact. I am any professionalist. I just take some photos here and there. By the way. I have some displays, of course. In the cellar ;) I like reports specially. Photo-reports. My most dramatical photo report is from Polish tornado last year. All pictures are about nature. Ok - here is my picture of Polish autumn and soon I will put some spring plants, red poppies and sunflowers. All pictures are done in the vicinity of my house.

PS. Picture AUTUMN I jugde for 3+ (from 0 to 6).

I like the autumn shot a lot - great color and depth.

Just to mention that the site limit is 800 pixels on the longest side: your last posting was 477 pixels. So you have plenty more pixels to post!

    Re: lonely tree

    Hi

I also like this photo very much. In ...hmmm...reality it is a little fog, kind of mysterious shadow on the ground covered with fallen leaves and in the air... like a rain or what. I cannot see anything like that on the picture I sent here. I think these pictures are simply ... disshaped (???) somehow because of computer. I mean - the camera isn't bad but computer is bad, so what I am sending to you is because of computer and not because of camera. Is it possible? I am not sure. I think it is very possible. Because of photo-program??? I have a very easy one. Is it possible? :rolleyes5:

    Ok. Today three other pictures.
One with sunflowers, one with poppies and one with snowdrops. Spring is comming.
By the way I am curious too see if colours are also botchy on them

I want to say that one time I went to develop my photos and the machine was very bad.
Pictures were really TRAGIC. I wasnot able to watch them . I had to go to another studio, use quite different machine and everything was quite OK. At last. Probably in my case the core of problem is about computer and photo program and not about camera.
    ???
