    Checking out the beach

This sea gull was checking the beach out while I was there. Let me know what you think, Jeff

Gosh, what a sharp image and clean composition! There may be just a tad too much sand there for my liking, but you have certainly caught the bird very nicely in my eyes.

    Cheers

I like the cropped one best. What lens and shutter speed did you use? I'm guessing the gull wouldn't wait for you to drag out your tripod

That second one is really nice. Good composition and sharpness.

I like it Gramps. The frame is a nice touch, too, and the background (behind the frame) is cool. Between them, you are picking the perfect colors and textures to enhance your photos. Good eye all the way.

Thanks. I don't have enough experience with my different lens to really know when to use what.

I love the tones of the shot. I think I prefer the cropped one also. Good one!

    Nice!

I also like the cropped version. I love the sense of movement in your shot and his (her?) eye peeking out from under the wing. Gosh I love birds.

I personall would have cropped it slightly less, but still prefer the cropped version to the uncropped.

    Re: Checking out the beach

For me cropping just off the bottom would have improved the shot more. The gull is centered in the original and nothing really changed with the crop.
