Paul ... you did a pretty good job there! Actually, the overcast day probably helped by reducing the contrast.

One of my biggest challenges. Black dog in white snow. It's a real challenge just to be able to see her eyes.

My biggest challenge is when I have night time wedding receptions without any ambient light and all I got is my flash on a bracket
