Jeff, this is a pretty neat frame up and comp of the scene and I agree with the suggestions for improvement layed out by A.M.D.A
I like how you framed the houses between the two trees.
Not bad, I like it how you framed it, but what bothers me is the woman on the left. The point is that the path leads the eye to to focal point, which is the opera house, while the woman is going in the opposite direction. It's not a major issue, but still one that bothers me personally.
I appreciate all of you taking the time to look and comment on my picture. I'm not sure how to work the curve adjustment but I am trying to figure it out. I am trying to learn how to work in PS 7.0 and it is very challenging for me. I'll keep plugging along and maybe I will get better at as I go along in the future. Thanks again, Jeff

In the layers box, hit the black/white circle and choose Curves adjustment. this makes it so that the curves adjustment is on a new layer itself so you don't mess with the original and you have more control of editing later...
