Brands Hatch - Places to shoot 5

Druids of course - stake your spot !
You have to shoot through the fence, so that means a long lens and wide open.

This is what you can get here.
The key thing is to use a long lens, wide aperture, and get as close as possible to the fence.
If you keep the aperture wide (400mm, f/2.8) then the wire will be so far out of focus that it's almost unnoticeable.
There will be a slight effect on the contrast, can you spot it?

Too bad about the fences. Your right you need to shoot side open, but the side effect is almost freezing the cars. I guess I get spoiled shooting at Road America.

Brands is a great place for photos. I luv it, Just a shame its around a ten hour drive for us.

Here is the best one i got from that position although i had to lean over the small fence to get pressed right up against the big fence.. Which wasnt the most comfortable

Wish i had seen your places to shoot before i went the last time paul. It would have been a grea help.

    Just what I do.
I plant the monopod on the other side of the small fence to get even closer.

Thanks, I had the idea thinking about places we go to take photos.
If you want to do something similar for Knockhill, I think we have the start of a forum feature.

Good idea Mate. I probably have photos covering every inch of the track at Knockhill. Not good ones right enough

Will need to try and sort through them and see what i can come up with
