Permission to cuss, please ... ?

    *sigh*

I don't know how the date setting got turned *on* my film camera ... that's one of the first things I ever turned off ...

... but apparently it got turned back on. So guess what's stamped all over half my wedding pictures??

I used the film camera as a backup so I pretty much doubled all shots on both film and digital, but there are some really good expressions on film. *sigh* now I have to spend hours cloning.

    *SIGH*

It's an awfully good thing that these people are closer to me than family! I'll enjoy working on their pics since it will be a labor of love, AND they can't expect pro quality since they didn't pay for it.

Ouch, at least the first clean-up was successful.

I think there are camera gremlins that do that stuff......only when the pics are important of course. Looks like you have the cloning down well. I don't think you have the room to crop.

unless the camera won't work with it, take the date stamp battery out and i can guarantee you will never have that problem again!

    There's a separate battery for the date-stamp??????? I don't think so.

Date stamp is the worst idea any camera manufacture ever had!
Don't forget about the Gallery. Are your photos there??

I can't imagine any good use for it, just problems like this. You can set the date to anything you want, so how would it benefit an insurance claim or some type of investigation, etc?

Good job with the cloning tool - I wouldn't have known.

I agree.. gremlins or gnomes are the most probable cause. If it wasn't gremlins or gnomes, then it was Murphy!! I have a hate-hate relationship with that guy..

Re: Permission to cuss, please ... ?

Well I haven't used the camera for some time, so the batteries died and I replaced them. I wonder if that reset the factory settings?

The only other thing I can think of is *maybe* I turned it on one day a few years ago in order to document something. OR, maybe my son turned it on, although I've seen his pictures and I don't think so. And I think he's the last person to have used it. SO, I think the most logical cause is a factory reset after the batteries died.

Thanks for the suggestion to crop, but the date is on 60 pictures. Some work out okay, others are a problem. I don't think the family shots should look like they were all amputated at the ankles ....

They are, they really are. But in that picture, I told him to "squeeze her!" They thought that was really funny.
