Interesting and unusual shot. Since it's hard to figure out what this is exactly, it might help to put a person...or something in there to give this a sense of size. I'd also crop out that thin strip of gray-toned water at the top.

I like this, not sure that the title you have given this really does it justice though!! It reminds me of penguins huddling together against harsh weather and given that this is a very peaceful scene it conjures an interesting contrast. I agree with the comment from Charles to just crop the grey water at the top slightly.

I also think that Mr. Hess has a valid point on the crop. I like what you are attempting and the saturation of blue in the stones and the pattern they form are very pleasing to the viewer.
Don't forget about the Gallery. Are your photos there??

Aside from the above suggestions, I think a lower vantage point would work better if that is possible.

I am not sure I would keep the upper half of the ellipse. I think I would crop off the entire area above the vertical middle of the ellipse, which would leave you with about 5/8 of the original and an even greater abstract feeling.

Very nice... the water is smooth and the colours are very pleasing.

    Re: blue ROCKS!

I like the crop suggestion a lot, although the photo the way it is leaves one wondering... what in the world is that?!?!? Which is also kind of cool What in the world is it anyway. I think it is a wonderful capture, but the water on top is a bit busy and distracting to me. But this photo...makes me think of a bunch of little blue potato men watching an air show! Yes, I have a very strange and vivid imagination
