Michigan vs Ohio State
Hi all.....
I went to a Michigan vs Ohio State mens gymnastics meet last night. I had to take my camera. My son is a (please tell anyone) an Ohio State fan. Their coach, Miles Avery is an Olympics coach and has come to our gym to help train our boys. My dad would roll over in his grave if he knew.... Dad bled Maize and Blue....
Here are a few from last night.....
#1 is one I thought was neat as I was sooting at 1/800 and I caught the staff photog with his shutter full open (by accident).
#2,3,4 is of a Sr who was performing his last event for Michigan and he rocked. He stuck the landing and the crowd as well as his teammates went nuts. These show him and his celebration...
Last one looks like a crash and burn, but it is part of the skill as he flips between the bars.
Hope you all like them..
Phil

Re: Michigan vs Ohio State
This was a 1st for me. We normally only soot in dungeons (except Indy).
BUT the walls were Maize and Blue. There was a tint of yellow. Overall it was a good place to shoot. I do need some noise reduction software though (for mac).

Re: Michigan vs Ohio State
Nice shots Phil, I will try to post some of mine from nationals after I get them downloaded, just got home. It was really nice seeing you and your son there. Your son really lifted my son's spirits as he was not too happy with his performance. Overall it was a good experience. I'll throw up some of my less experienced photography later in the week. I will be going to the Olympic trials this summer and hope to get some good shots, though I would not be surprised if they do not allow us to take in cameras.

Re: Michigan vs Ohio State
Greg,
It was great to see you and your son as well. My son was cheering for Chris ALOT. I was so happy for you and him. It was a huge accomplishment. I look forward to your pics.
Have fun at the trials. I wish I could go.

Re: Michigan vs Ohio State
Thank you Phil, I took some pictures too. That was a very interesting roll player by your son, if you want I can send you the pictures I took by email. Take care of your son and you.

Re: Michigan vs Ohio State
These look good Phil. Your white balance is nice and the pictures and nice and bright. I haven't had the opportunity to shoot gymnastics, looks like a lot of fun.
