    Thanks All !
As for who's the better photog? There are things I shoot better and he does better on other stuff. It's a nice sibling rivalry, to see who out shoots who

It must be great to shoot with a brother... My brother is my best friend but he is not into photography.

More wonderful images, Jimmy. The first one is my favorite; the focus on the first (lead?) car, and then the train of cars spaced out leading the eye back into the image, each one a little more out of focus. Love it.

Re: NASCAR Sprint cup Las Vegas

Tiago, Brad and Jeta thanks for the nice words. Brad the focus point was on the 17 on the left front side of the hood and windshield. At the angle I had it worked out to the tail of cars coming out of turn 4.
    Jeta check your PM.

Re: NASCAR Sprint cup Las Vegas

Tufcat these were shot on the outside of the track between the grandstands and the track, credentials required. David Alio, head of photography for the speedway refers to it as "The Canyon" There are a bunch of fold up windows in the fence. The rules in place for the windows are if someone is waiting to shoot, shoot for 10 laps and let the next photog in to shoot.
JS, What is the rest of the story about shooting from the outside

Re: NASCAR Sprint cup Las Vegas

Just shooting on the outsides a whole nuther story when it comes to risk and getting sandblasted. This is one time you definately use a UV(0) filter to keep the front element from being sandblasted.

Oh well, I better go clean the gear for todays racing....off to the Speedrome for the INEX Legends and Bandoleros
