    Canon Speedlite 550EX

Is it possible to use the Canon 550EX speedlite with the Canon Rebel XTI Digital Camera?

From the information that I found, yes it will fit the XTi. Here is the information, http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/co...elTechSpecsAct, scroll down to "External Speedlite". It states, "E-TTL II autoflash with EX Series Speedlites".

    Re: Canon Speedlite 550EX

It will fit any EOS body, but the working part.... I found that after buying the 5D my 550 was shooting hot, the exposures where blown out when used in TTL. Then a fellow photographer loaned me the 580. On the 5D it worked great. Not sure what changed but several photographers I have spoken with all said they updated to the 580 becouse of issues with the 550 and the newer model cameras. I am still using the 550 though I have a stiff filter over it to deaden the blast, but I think the purchase of a 580 may be in my near future.
