Busted vacation equals

A little quality time with my daughters. Our oldest was sick last week and we had to postpone our 1400 mile trip to see the grandmas. So what is a dad to do to use up the vacation time that I had saved for the trip. Well, I decided to take the girls to the Wetlands Park on a daddy/daughters photo hike and ladybug hunt -- of course!

I'll say right now that a 9 year old and a 5 year old are not the best partners on a birding trip since they like to talk non-stop. So our shots of wildlife that is big enough and smart enough to get away are few and far between. But a mid walk ladybug infestation captured the attention of the girls for a few minutes. And we did get to hang out together without mom or the little brother for a couple of hours.
