Playing with my 40D and 70-200 today

Not as great as most of yours with ya 400mm lenses, but, I am over the moon, haha, (pun intended) with my new camera and lens.

Firstly, a seagull lands on the shed roof next door and I sieze the moment

    and...

my first decent shot of the moon!!! Yay!!!

I am so excited! Now, you're all thinking, "Calm down Ali, we get shots like that ALL the time."
So, let's compare it to my pitiful shot of the Lunar Eclipse in March this year LOL

now you can understand why I am sooooo excited!

What like my 50mm shot or 200? I thought maybe your shots would be far better than my 200mm.

Nope, I was stuck with the LZ5 ... because I was at the house waiting for SOCO to turn up after the squatters, I couldn't come home to pick up the decent cameras

Alison, you lucky little gal. You're right, the solar eclipse shot does leave a bit to be desired. However, these shots rock. If I was to make the plunge, I would opt for that body with a 400mm, if I had an extra $3000 burning a hole in my pocket. The only thing is, I heard that due to the Canon 400mm L lens having external zoom instead of internal, it made the camera more susceptible to dust ending up on the sensor.

Have fun Alison and post more photos.

You're going to have a ball with that new outfit Ali. The first shots are proof of that. Nice going.
Don't forget about the Gallery. Are your photos there??
