Far away fire...

Brings good mid day light for our soccer games last weekend. I shot at both daughters games Saturday. My oldest daughters game was at 8:00am and had pretty harsh lighting conditions. My youngest daughter has an early afternoon game with great light conditions because the smoke from a fire in the San Bernardino Mtns (100+ miles away) was channeled right into the Las Vegas Valley.

Nice timing there but I'd crop the woman on the left as she's extremly distracting.

I agree with JS, the woman on the left really takes away from the girl. Nice capture. That's a nice age to watch play, with their expressions and focus.

I thought the same thing -- but was afraid the photo proportions would be a little strange if I did crop her out. I'll post a capture from my old daughters game when I get home tonight (talk about a distracting spectator that I didn't notice until I downloaded). ;)

I tend to consider asthetics over proportion here. I'd probably shoot vertical w/soccer (shich I normally do. It makes cropping easier

The cropped one looks so much better. These little girls are too cute. How old are they? My daughter is seven and they look a bit younger then her.

They are 5. I love shooting these games more than my older daughter's. At this age they still run in little packs and have great expressions and smiles in nearly every capture.

Nope, my wife thought it was pretty funny -- and was wondering how her top was keeping everything in. If I would have noticed at the field I might have snapped a few more shots to test my lens.
