    One track or another.....

Well one of my two days off this month and I still wound up working. The speeds are a bit slower, and it's not as loud It's also a case of "open mouth insert foot" as I have now shot four track meets in two weeks and have at least two more to go, and possibly FOUR before the month is over. Tonight it was one of two girls sectional meets that our 4 county schools were in.

#1: A freshman who helped lead the team to 3rd place and the regionals next week.
#2: The prom queen from Saturday night....at least I recognized her tonight
#3: Another event this team wasn't supposed to do well in, but they surprised everyone, including themselves.
#4: some encouragement from a teammate
#5: The shock of the night for the team I was shooting was the final event, the 4x400. With their top runner out due to injury they figured a top 6 finish was the best they could do, however the second runner got third in her run, and the 3rd runner took second, then it came time for this girl who took the lead going into turn 1, lost the lead 3/4's of the way to turn 3 and won it at the line by out stretching her nearest opponent for a huge upset win
And we got the whole event in before the skoes opened up!
Congrats girls....see ya next week

John, after reading your reply in my 'Intra-squad' thread, I came over to this one. Yep, looks like you had one of those days...with the light and all . I don't feel like the Lone Ranger so much now. I have one last chance to try my hand at track and field, coming up on the 22nd, so I'd better get out and give it a go.

The prom queen shot is top notch. You caught it perfectly. Nice job on the action on all of them. Well the rains have come in here as a cold front is sweeping through. Washing things out. Hope this isn't happening to you too. However you may welcome a little rain and a day off.
Don't forget about the Gallery. Are your photos there??

OT, no rain here, well, at least not that will delay or wash anything out. The rains hit after the track meet and ended early enough they won't affect the "big" track....speaking of which, I better get going!
