    T-Ball first game

So the first game of the T-Ball season was yesterday morning and I must say drawing the absolute first game of the season was kind of rough. 8:30 AM start for the little guys. Trying to get them motivated was a bit of a chore. My wife is one of the coaches and I have been elected as the "volunteer" photographer for the team.

The light sucked as it was heavily overcast and we even had a slight drizzling during the first part of the second inning, but I did my best. Here's some of my best shots form the day... how well did I do? I am used to fast cars not baseball, so this is all new to me. I read all of the other baseball posts for some pointers and made an attempt to implement them in my shooting.

No. 2 here is great. The kids at that age just love to put on the gear, and this guy is saying "man, am I cool or what?" Nice capture.

Thanks JB ... It helps that he's my kid and not the least bit camera shy anymore lol. First words out of his mouth after the game were... "Can I be the catcher more? It's the most important position"

They look pretty good to me!

I gotta check with my boss first, but I'm hoping to be able to post some of my Tball/baseball shots I've been taking the past 3 weeks.

Great work Jay. A little overcast isn't bad. You can always play with the levels in pp. Sunny days, however, can be a real problem. I had a college game at 1:00 today, and the sunshine killed me.

By watching the horizon do you mean where it is placed in the shot? And I assume that by the horizon you mean (in this case) where the bottom of the fence line is?

Thanks for commenting everyone. It's good to know I am on the right track.

well, you want to make sure that the fence is straight. there's a shot with the bleachers in the background, and it looks like they're tilted to the left. you want to make sure that kind of thing is straight across.

    Re: T-Ball first game

Yeah, what John said.... I know I do it too but the paper doesn't care, they straighten em up and it only takes him a second. I normally don't worry about it but for some reason it really caught my eye on these.

So how was it shooting something that wasn't going 180mph? Starting Sunday things speed up for me, going from 0-218+ as the track opens for the rookies. Of course it depends on the weather too, they just said it may rain Sunday
