Some soccer head shots
Shot a varsity game at the beginning of the week with two rival teams. There was a lot of action between the two and I ended up with some great shots, well at least I think so. Wanted to share a few of them.

This one isn't a header but I like the action in it.

Re: Some soccer head shots
Well Homer, you have some very good shots here, and very good timing as well :
I wouldn't be surprised if smartWombat doesn't pick one of these for POTW.... question is which one, there are a couple good choices.
You sure have improved things, nice job!

Re: Some soccer head shots
Thanks a lot JS, I'd have to say that my timing has improved a bit over this last year.

Re: Some soccer head shots
Jim,
Have you noticed your timing is better since using the MKII N? If so it's probably due to being used to shooting earlier than you wanted to, now it's right on time as you don't have the shutter lag.
John

Re: Some soccer head shots
Yes, I have found that my timing is a lot better now that I have the MKII N. I truly love that camera.

Re: Some soccer head shots
Decisions, decisions, which one of those do I pick?
The action is good, but when I shrink them to thumbnails which one shows the subject best?

Re: Some soccer head shots
they're all good, but
#1 there's that bit of a player on the left and the goalie by her hand
#2 the ball's gone, leaving a head-butt and knee to the thigh - great hair though !
#3 there's that shadow, otherwise I'd say it's best of the bunch
#4 shame about the white in the background and her white shirt
#5 great pose, oh why has she got her eyes shut?
#6 not a header, but great action, ball right on her foot
I like them all
