I just came back from a weekend in Door County, Wisconsin's Washington Island. I've been there twice before - several years ago and briefly. I had a couple of days to do it and strong winds forecasted for Sunday a.m. (meaning good waves at the unusual stone beach). It's a little late up there for decent fall color but the lake tempers the climate a little and it wasn't too bad. The best shots would have been a week or two ago but sometimes you have to make do with what you have (car shot, and don't try this at home ).
1. Aforementioned beach with some pretty decent waves. They were at least waist-high and several feet in front of me, as shot with a 10mm lens on my DSLR.
2. Aforementioned car shot - fall colors were not at their best so I decided to blur out the defects...
3. Colorado people will laugh at this, but this is from Mountain Tower (at all 181 steps). Rock Island, a state park, is in the distance.
4. Roof detail of a Scandanavian church.
5. Air and water temps at about 40 degrees, 20 knot wind. Great day for kiteboarding!
