    Amish Friends

I had said earlier in the week that I would post a few more images of some of the Amish friends that attended my nieces wedding last weekend in Pennsylvania. For me I showed a lot of restraint and didn't go sticking my camera in their faces. The images I captured were with longer lenses and I tried to respect their wishes as much as possible. Many of the photos I would have liked to have taken I refrained from. Hope you enjoy this little slice of life in PA. The Amish who attended the wedding were good friends of my brother-in-law a Wesleyan minister. This is my last post for a week or so I'm off to Texas in the morning to meet my new grandson. If I don't respond to your comments please forgive. I'll be back in a week or so and try and catchup.

Interesting photos, OT. Makes me think about how different it would be to grow up Amish.

You're coming to Texas at a good time. We just had a cold front pass through, so the highs will only be in the upper 80s for the next few days.

What part of PA were you in? We've got a very large Amaish community here in Mercer County. I've often thought that I could get some pretty cool shots of some of them but so far I haven't because I'm not sure what is 'acceptable' as far as shooting Amish photos.

where i went to undergrad, at Shippensburg, there was a large amish community. i'd be up drinking still and we'd hear them going to church in the morning :-)

Wow, a bit of the past and present intersect. Thanks for sharing your pictures. Congratulation on your new grandson, what's his name?

    Re: Amish Friends

Hey gang. Thanks for the comments on the Amish Friends images. Just back from Texas and our first visit with our new grandson Joshua. We had a blast and I have a couple of thousand images to go through. I hope to have few to post real soon.
