Re: My first football game of the season
I couldn't agree more with livin more, that first shot gets you front page above the fold every time. Beautiful image JETA. To be honest with you I go to every game looking for that one shot. Anything else I get is just icing on the cake. Even though you may not have been totally please, you got to admit you did get some icing. Nice job, now that the first game jitters are out of the way you can really let loose and go for it. Hope the boy had a good solid game. Keep it up.

Re: My first football game of the season
Thanks so much for the responses. I'm glad you guys are seeing a difference.
Photography is kinda like watching my kids grow. It such a gradual process that I don't notice it like someone from the outside does. Crazy anaolgy. lol
Can you tell me what makes the first photo so good? If the truth be told I thought it wasn't too great because of the shadows.

Re: My first football game of the season
why the first photo is so goods... well, first off, the color is awesome. I love the blueish cast it has, but it's a completely natural cast and you captured the light exactly as it is in real life. Second of all, the action is amazing. THe defender is obviously off his feet trying to stop the carrier. THe image is tack sharp, the BG is blurred out, and you can see the carrier's face perfectly. THe shadow really doesnt detract at all. if there was a shadow over the face it would detract a ton, but the face is the key part, and you captured it perfectly. straight horizon, good exposure, everything's tack on. you can almost feel the intensity eminationg from the photo. and it's really a good analogy, because I know exactly what you mean, and I am the same way.

Re: My first football game of the season
Ditto on what livin said. Sharpness, color, peak action and great expression this one has it all. JETA you rock, don't be so humble.

Re: My first football game of the season
Thank you for the explanation. It helps me to know what the heck to look for.
OT, I don't think I'm humble. Just confused 99% of the time.
I read a lot on these boards trying to learn. Some of what I read scares me because I know so very little. It also makes me very apprehensive to put my stuff out there.
