    Just for the Guys..NOT!

If you thought the football sidelines were just for the guys well think again. More and more women are showing up with cameras in the their hands on the sidelines. there were five photos on my side of the field last night. Three of the five were women. I got photos of a couple of them the one mom is very accomplished and does most of the yearbook photos for the school the other young lady was shooting for her school paper I believe. I also noticed that the younger photographers always have an assistant or maybe it's someone for moral support.

    I love this thread OT!

I am the official photgrapher for our high school football team this year. However, I declined the offer to do the portraits. I'm waaaaaaay too green for that.

Honestly, I get such a rush being on the sidelines. I grew up with my father coaching, my brothers playing..... Now my son playing. There's nothing like it. I'm so excited for our season to start.
    It's not blurry. It's bokeh.

i think this "asssistant" you speak of that the younger females have on teh side lines are in actuallity their so they don't have to watch the game! of course this would have to be on a case by case basis (being from pititsburgh- i know many females more into football than some guys.)

I had you in mind when I made this post. I had referred to the lady in the second picture last year. She moved to digital this year for the first time and has been struggling a bit getting use to it. She has a son on the team as well and another on the middle school team. Many of her images are in the local paper and most all the sports pictures in the school year book are hers. She has a daughter that was in high school when mine was and she was a cheerleader. She and her mother put together a photo scrape book of my daughter's senior basketball season that was awesome. The daughter is a senior manager with the UK football team this year, her mom is hoping to get some great tickets so she can shot from the stands.

    Re: Just for the Guys..NOT!

It seems most schools have 2 kids on the sidelines , one taking pictures, the other to make sure the picture taker doesn't get creamed (sounds like an assistant for me after last years incident )
