    Doh!!!

    ?Halfway from toronto to watkins glen I realize I forgot my camera cord AND my card reader!!

    Any one in the area with a card reader? I'd hate to have to buy a new one.

    I have a card reader at home, plus one in each vehicle just so that doesn't happen. They can be had pretty cheap at WalMart though so I'd suggest just picking one up and then keep it in the car.

    Did the same thing on a trip to Texas. Like JS says they are pretty cheap compared to the rest of your equipment, it will not hurt to have a spare.
    Don't forget about the Gallery. Are your photos there??

    thanx guys. I didnt know wallmart carried them. I'll grab one today so I can switch back o shooing in raw instead of jpg.

    Good news and Bad news

    Good - I was able to grab a new card reader for $19.97 from Wallmart which tured out to be even better than my previous one. So the old one gets tossed into the truck as te back-up and the new one goes in the camera bag .

    Bad news - My 8 month old got sick while I was processing the raw files on sunday night. He threw up on the Memory card AND my laptop

    Good - Laptop is OK and all images had been transferred off the card already

    Bad - Mem card is FUBAR - Camera shows card error and wont allow me to shoot. So now I am off to get a new mem card (gonna get 2 so I have a backup jsut in case something like this happens again)

    Bad - due to the loss of the mem card there will be no pictures of scenic Seneca Lake as we headed home monday morning..... no sunrise over the lake.... no sail boats dotting the pristine waters.... sigh....

    Good- Pictures are being transferred form the laptop to the main machine now so after dinner I will post a few of the best.

    Here's a sample -
