    JV Track Meet

Brought the camera today and took some shots before my 4x400. This is my first time really shooting sports outside of bodyboarding.
    What do you think?

I think I'd crop the top one. Overall, nice job.

I had to shoot middle school track Thursday at the asme school where I shot the baseball game (thread HS Baseball), but because of having to get to the baseball game I took a total of 4 shots....and three will run in this coming Wednesdays weekly paper. Few papers cover middle school sports but this one does. It made it tough to shoot both things as the track meet had 7 schools, both boys and girls! Talk about a madhouse, there must have been 250+ kids....7th and 8th graders.

Nice job, great color and focus is right on. I haven't gotten to shot a single event in track this year and the season is about over. I love to attend and photograph track and field so I'm anticipating Tuesday meet and hope the weather hold. Had a cold day with hard driving rain that postponed last weeks home meet.
Don't forget about the Gallery. Are your photos there??

Yea it's definitley amazing how many they can fit into one meet. I was running at a varsity relay the other day and I counted about 45 schools. So it was about a 12 hour day waiting and running and a downpour mixed in the middle there too.
    Thanks for the comments guys.

don't crop the top one. The composition makes the photo. As for the rest, they're nothing that amazing. Pretty static, not much movement, and no real focus. The first one does a good job with the composition, and isn't just a regular action shot. I just wish those hurdles weren't there...Some very nice color though.

    Re: JV Track Meet

These were with my D70s and 18-70 lens right from the seats on the side. There was some photoshop work in these. And I am saving up for the Nikon 80-200 2.8 two ring zoom.
    Thanks
