    Question about Canon EOS 650

Hello, im still quite new to this forum, and if you remember i got into photography around xmas when i bought a Dimage 7 (with extras) from a friend for about 300$. and after my uncle heard of my intrest in photography he gave me his Canon EOS 650 with lots of goodies to me since he hasent used it in 7 or so years but i had a couple questions. Especially about lenses. Are new lenses that cannon makes compatable with the 650 ( sorry if thats dumb im still new to this photography thing ...but LOVING it) also how much is a fisheye lens? any advice for useing this camara?

Re: Question about Canon EOS 650

Congrats on your new toys!!! All of the current Canon EF lenses will work with your EOS 650. The EF-S lenses will NOT work. If the camera didn't come with a manual I would suggest getting one. You should be able to get one from Canon. I think they charge around $7 for one, or you might be able to download one from their site.

Short answer, yes, EF mount lenses should be very compatible with the 650. Not sure about the IS lenses, but I don't see why they shouldn't work.
It's a great camera (had the 630 myself), extremely rugged and durable. The only drawback is the 2CR5 lithium battery, getting harder to find these days, although it lasts forever. Not sure about flashes (EZ lineup should work just fine, not sure about the new EX lineup of flashes). I learned my photography on the EOS 630 (which is pretty identical to the 650 in most respects), and I would probably still be shooting with it if I still had it.

Good point about the IS lenses Lionheart. I'm sure a quick call to Canon would answer that question.
