    A little wrestling

Well last night they had me hopping from place to place, first two basketball games, 6th and 8th grade no less. Then on to a high school for wrestling....it turned into a very long night. I started at 5pm, and by the time I had sent the last photo out it was 1:15am
Heres a few from wrestling though.

Interesting work P-J. The determination on the wrestlers' faces is apparant. What did you use? 80-200 2.8?

    Re: A little wrestling

    Very nice to see this.
No wheels, no balls, something totally different !

I like #1 - the other photographer has the wrong angle, you have the faces
I like #3 - just for the strong colours, despite what looks like overexposure on the white.
OK, I like #2 as well, though I with all of the wrestlers' bodies was in the shot

#4 looks like a knee in the groin, more than wrestling

I'd like to have the opportunities that you've got - beats working in this office !

#1: there is another photog on that photogs left, you just barely see him I didn't like this guy too much, he was blasting away with flash, and 2 feet from the mat blinding the people in the stands, not to mention the wrestlers.

#4: Well even the crop couldn't keep the legs in this one, so I croppped it like the paper would just to see what it would be like...it was a test and I passed as the editor put it.

#3: the uniforms showed some severe reflection when the light hit just right. Odd that they did not have the lights on right over the mat.

Actually on #4 ...no, he's lifting the guys leg to try and ump him on the flooor. I do have one of those other kind of shots though, you'd have to see it to beleive it, but it was a perfect "uh ho" shot, and both of them noticed too

Not bad, JS. The colors look great, the action looks good. Great job.

    Re: A little wrestling

Thanks masdog. I have decided though I hate shooting wrestling.......it takes so darn long.
Unfortunately I will be doing a lot of it as the paper likes what I get, especially the now infamous "bite" shot I got last spring at the regionals. That shot was still being talked about.

id say go tighter. Gotta love tight shots. Especially wrestling. It lends itself to tight shots well.
