    Basketball Doubleheader...

This weekend, my college hosted a basketball doubleheader, with the women having a mid-afternoon game and the men having an early evening game against opponents from the same school. The women played a somewhat sloppy game, but came out ahead against Concordia while the Men ended the first half ahead, but ended up blowing the game midway through the second when one of the starters fouled out. I wish I had been there to shoot that little segment of action.

Here are the images from the women's game:

And the ones from the men's game:

Some nice catches there masdog! It appears the WB is just a touch cool though with the blue tint to the white...but it could be my monitor too. Although after a second look not all of them have it so it must be due to location and varying light.

Nice job. Love the first shot, but the background gives you no sense of the game. I always like to see a something back there that gives me a feel that it is being played before a crowd.
Don't forget about the Gallery. Are your photos there??

    Re: Basketball Doubleheader...

Thank you, OT. The first shot is one of my favorites as well, and it might end up on the office wall of my school's Athletic Director. I would love to have a bleacher full of people behind that shot, but unfortunately, my school's gym is smaller than most high school gyms. We don't have enough fans to fill the gym on most weekends.

    Re: Basketball Doubleheader...

Thanks, JS. I tried to get the whites as white as possible (that sounds like a Tide Commercial, doesn't it??), but I see what you're saying. A few of my shots, especially closer to the basket, had a lot of shadows to deal with, and I wasn't using flash. Hmm...perhaps I could try using the shadow/highlight tool in PS.

the first and third to last are my favorites. I like the third a lot, but disagree with the crop. I think vertical would work much better here. Some of the best shots I've ever seen from you. Well done!

    Re: Basketball Doubleheader...

Thanks, Livin. A vertical crop wouldn't work with the third one since it was taken horizontally. As they say in Wayne's World, "EXTREME CLOSE-UP!!!"
