    NO! It's MY ball!

LOL, well that is exactly how this game was, and in fact it was one girl litteraly pick pocketing another to tie the game with 40 seconds to go to tie it and send it to OT for the home team in white. In OT the home team pulled off the upset 58-50 after coming back from 8 down with 1:24 in regulation.
The girls get pretty scrappy as both games I shot that night were like this.

    Hi payn817,

Nope, no strobes, no flash at all. This is one gym I don't need anything, it's light colored and well lit with flourecent lights.
Basically I'm shooting with a 1D MKII N set at 1000ISO, 200 shutter f2.8 (Canon 70-200 USN IS) although the ISO will go from 800-1250 here in this gym. It depends on how they have it set up. For basketball the AD normally has all the stands down so they do not block any light , but for volleyball they don't do that and you need more ISO to make up for the lower light.
Now if two other schools in the county would get the hint! BTW, I've seen girls worry more about their hair at basketball before, just not the ones around...they love their basketball.

very nice John. These are actually some of the best bball shots I have seen from you yet. they're sharp, and colorful. Well saturated too. Not a big fan of the third shot, as it looks pretty cropped, but I really enjoy the other too. Man, i can't get over the color in that first one.

    Re: NO! It's MY ball!

Can anyone guess what I really like in the first shot?

Thanks Liven....but you normaly don't see the "good stuff" as it all goes to the paper(s) so what you normally see are the bad shots that are ones the parents buy. I did crop the bottom one, just not as much as you think.

Wow, no guesses! Oh well.... It's the expression on the girls face who has the ball, and it's what gave me the thread name, she just looks like she is pouting as the defender does her job.
Lately I have been getting a ton of expression shots that are either just plain strange or just plain silly....I haven't decided which catagory this one fits in, maybe both! The paper loves them though.
