    Skimboarding

Hey guys, I got some really good skim shots the other day at the beach. A couple pros showed up so most of these pictures are of them.

Later in the same sequence... yes he pulled this off, despite the sketchy landing

Cool shots, I would never have thought you could do waves while skim boarding. These waves are breaking right on shore. Thanks for sharing.

Looks painful if you crash that close to shore....UGH...

    But great shots...

Thanks guys. Yea, it hurts pretty bad when you fall onshore. And that happens about half the time. Either you make it or don't, and when you don't it hurts. I've been slammed down a good number of times. I was out for almost 2 months due to landing with the board under me, and my leg sticking into the board. 50 stitches inside my leg and 21 outside. It was all the way to the bone. It's worth it though for the most thrilling sport I've ever done

Not exactly sure what this means, but if you're asking what type of lens I was using, it's a 55x200 VR

    Re: Skimboarding

All great shots, a couple really special ones in there. Very cool stuff; those skim boarder guys are really talented. The very first shot, is great, on a brighter day and a bit sharper that would be my favorite. Your favorite of Dave Scott is mine as well - love the long wake and the sharpness of the spray.

Thanks for sharing your great work!

Oh, and "glass" is photog slang for lens. I think "VR" means Nikon, right? What body are you shooting on?
