much better. now if only their eyes weren't closed...

also tried a new sharpening procedure, and it seems to work a bit better than my last one. the edges are much thinner.

Image two is nice. Filled frame, action and faces with emotion. The detail in the white shirt and pants is nice as well.

Number 2 is great, Brent. What is your new sharpening procedure?

    Re: evening soccer

well previously I was using amount =300 and radius of .5, then when resized to 600 pix at widest edge, I was sharpening at about 75 and .5, but I was getting frustrated with the thick edges, so I changed my first amount to 500 and .3, then 125 and .3 when resized, i believe. either that or .2. one of the two

thanks for the comments everyone. the first image isn't popping as much as I want it to, so I'm going to work on it quickly and repost. check back in a minute.
