After a long summer of racing...I made it back
Talk about a long summer! Here are a few quick shots, I didnt plan on posting any so I will rummage later..
THis first one is by far my favorite! I heard a loud poping sound, figured on a crash, then nothing, he broke his chain, turns out I got it, thats his chain beind him right before it pops him in the helmet lol
Second is my hero 20 yr old Brett, the one armed bandit! Hit in a street wrck by an SUV, he lost his right arm, but it didnt stop him! The crash was almost 3 years ago now and he has been racing for 2!
The 911 is a 16 year old, amazing form and speed for his age!
The last is Michael crashing, I managed to get the whole series too!
Ok, back to scanning the forum to listen to the pro's for advice!

Great to see your wonderful two wheeler images. I have to agree that chain flying off is a super shot. Love it.
Re: After a long summer of racing...I made it back
TY OT! I have missed being here. I have been like a kid in a candy store scanning all the posts lol
Re: After a long summer of racing...I made it back
Great shots! The first one with the chain is my favorite too. I love shots like that where you don't even realize you captured something unique until you see the image on your camera monitor or even on the computer later.
I took some shots like that this past weekend at a football game. One of the players lost his helmet on a touchdown scoring play and I got several shots of the helmet in mid-air directly in front of the player who was scoring the touchdown. I completely missed that until I looked at the pictures later on my laptop.
They are photos #38 - #44 in the slide show I am linking to below.

im in the same boat as PJ, and had the exact same thought process. You should submit that to a magazine, I think that would easily make it into publication!
Re: After a long summer of racing...I made it back

What an amazing shot. I've been following motorcycle racing as long as I can remember and I don't think I've ever seen a photo of a chain coming off. Well done Lori! I've been of most of the summer too... I need to get back in here!
Re: After a long summer of racing...I made it back
Another great capture Lori. I always love your motorcycle shots. Keep them coming.
Re: After a long summer of racing...I made it back
I wondered where you'd gone off to. Glad to see you back and WOW what and entrance =)
The chain shot is, as the kids say, off the hook, pun intended. What a catch!!
Can't wait to see more of what you've been shooting all summer.
Re: After a long summer of racing...I made it back
Just a follow up here, the chain shot made it into the January issue of Roadracing World!! Im tickled (as did 3 shots on the Kids page of the kids racing in Nashville!) If anyone gets this magazine already its on page 8 and 81 LOL Thanks for all the nice comments too!! :)
Re: After a long summer of racing...I made it back

Lori,
Great shots, and congrats on getting published. I love watchingbike racing, especially flat track. But I have no desire to go down (too darned old) anymore  so I just cruise down to the beach on my HOG. Again fantastic images of an extremely difficult subject. 2 X
