    Working in Photoshop

One of my summertime resolutions .. Try to fix a few photos and get a little better at Photoshop CS5 at the same time.

Here's a fix of the model's left foot. I didn't feel that it was at a very flattering angle in the original. After copying her right foot and pasting it on another layer, rotating, various transformations (distort, perspective, and resize), some clean up work to remove the zipper (which should only be on the inside of the shoe) and wrong colors around the edges, and finally the density, I think I am done! Comments?

    Re: Working in Photoshop

The original actually looks like a bad photoshop job when looking at that foot. Much better improvement. There's something not quite right, but I can't put my finger on it, and I'm only seeing it b/c I'm looking for it.
    mostly Nikon gear

good PS job, I would also remove th dark band under the foot, it makes the light look strange

the angle looks painful, can you half kneel with the foot turned outside like that ?

    Re: Working in Photoshop

Thanks guys. After looking at it and looking at it, plus asking others, I believe I need to work a little more on that foot so that it 1) doesn't turn outward as it seems to here, and 2) perhaps bend more at the ankle so that the toe is pointing more away from her (as it probably happening in the original, we just can't see it).

Armando, I agree that the black band below the foot looks a little odd. Of course, that's exactly how it was! But maybe the PS job makes it seem even stranger? Ahhh.

N8, funny, I showed the original to folks at work who are not into art or photography and said "there's one bad thing here - can you see it?" and they could not. It takes an artistic eye to nit pick, I suppose.

Made a few adjustments.. does this look a little more natural? The changes may be a bit subtle for comparison.

    Here's the 'final' on that.

I like being able to see your progress, if I may suggest, to get it more natural looking bring the toe of the foot down a bit, so it looks like it is resting on the red backdrop. It looks like she is holding her foot up in an unnatural position. Photoshop is not easy for me to work, I have tried and really don't make too much progress in my project, so great job in how you have made the adjustments so far.

The first fix was much better than the "final," but in the first fix, the heel doesn't quite match the line of the leg and the turn of the ankle. It looks like the heel is not in the center of the boot. With a fix on that i think the first fix is way better. Both the original and the final look like her ankle is broken.

    Re: Working in Photoshop

Thanks fellows. Really, really hard to get this one totally right given the source material I have ... or maybe it would be easy for someone with more experience than I. Maybe I will work on it some more and see if a different approach works (whatever that different approach may be).

    Re: Working in Photoshop

Good start, but I think it would be better if you removed the red background and replace it with gradient, it would be cleaner, An you can also add some shinning effects in the body. Everything else is great, the lightning effects, the pose etc..
