Windows 7

I am planning on installing windows 7 Professional.

Questions:

1. has anyone installed PSE 6 under windows 7 and does it work?
2. will PSE work on 64bit?
3. Will it work under XP on windows 7?

Roger I am not sure about PSE6 I run PS 7. But I am running Windows 7 and have loaded PS 7 and it works fine. I have had no issues with W7, but I have read post were sometimes if you upgrade it will freeze your computer somewhere around the 60% finished stage and is a booger to fix. Just google it.

Home Premium. My other computer is XP Pro. The W7 version is noticeably faster.

I'm running PS CS2 on Windows 7 home premium, 64x and it works fine.

i was under the impression that cs2/cs3 were not 64bit programs . if they are then is the memory constraints removed ie they will not access more than 3gb of ram . the hole idea of going to cs4 ,windows 7 is for the added ram 16gb please clarify

Well the kit arrived today and I am backing the system up as we speak so on my laptop for the next few days while the system is re-built.

I will document everything that happens and report back later once I have it all working.

I cannot believe it - the install of Windows 7 went extremely well, everything works and this is from Microsoft?

The install was quick and painless including LR, PSE V6, and old versions of Money, OED... and it works so much better than XP or Vista.

Roger I am running Windows 7 64 bit and the speed is wonderful. All my programs run much faster. I also just got a copy of CS4 thanks to my boss. I am in heaven, almost.LOL

64bit with quite a lot of old apps running in 32bit mode. I never expected this from MS. Not quite as fast as running linux but it does make the system a lot better to use. Now the argument about getting MAC is has less attraction.

I use CS4 on windows 7 32 bit. Very fast and smooth! Works much better than it did in XP. I was about to upgrade my entire machine after dealing with CS4 on XP for so long, but Windows 7 has been able to utilize my hardware much better - now I can put off the upgrade for a while!
