And I notice the TV ads now show in tiny print that the mascara makeup effect is enhanced by false lashes, or in post production, or both. In other words you can not trust what you see in an advert.
And the "90% of women..." adverts now show the sample size like n=76 briefly in the small print, so you don't know how statistically insignificant the result is, or how biased the sample was.
Don't get me started about graphs with no axis labels and no units "proving" things.
I won't mention totally inconceivable "scans" with devices that look like they came from Star Trek claiming to show things that can't be seen, where the small print says "representation" which means totally made up images with no evidence in fact to back them up.
There are enough stupid people out there for the advertising to work though
