Photoshop CS3 batch Processing Source/Destination Folder Issues

    Hi,
I am trying to set up a batch process however when I try to select the source folder I am only presented with my Desktop and 1 subfolder on my desktop. I cannot select any other drives/folders.
I am using CS3 on Vista Ultimate 64. My photos are stored in an external WD My Book Drive. I have the same problem when I try to select a destination folder.
Am I doing something wrong that I cannot see any of my other drives/partitions? I have the same issue when I try this through the Image Processor tool as well.
    Thanks!

I have never used Vista so I don't know if I will be of much help. In the window that opens up for you to select your source & destination folders, is there a folder, or icon that says My Computer? You should be able to open that and find your internal, and external drives.

Re: Photoshop CS3 batch Processing Source/Destination Folder Issues

    Hi mjs1973,
Unfortunately My Computer isn't displayed in the source folder UI, only Desktop. I recently partitioned my hard drive, installed Vista Ultimate and reinstalled all of my applications on the new partition. When I was working on my original install on the other partiton this step worked just fine...My Computer was an available option. Not sure if there's somethign in Preferences I need to enable?

    Thanks for the reply!

It may be a problem with your external drive. I'm not using Vista. But I also have one of those "My Book" drives and it seems temperamental about showing up in Windows Explorer on my Windows XP machines. It usually shows up just fine in Lightroom. But it often doesn't appear in Windows Explorer even when I can navigate to it through an application. Weird, huh?

Re: Photoshop CS3 batch Processing Source/Destination Folder Issues

KaraLynn's description of this bug is precisely accurate. Is there anyone out there who is actually using Windows Vista 64-bit and PhotoShop CS3 who has encountered the problem and knows how to resolve it? Thanks.

KaraLynn, I got the answer: You have to run Adobe PhotoShop as an Administrator. Here's the way I do that:

Click the Start button in Windows.
    Navigate to the PhotoShop icon.
Right-click the icon and then select Run As Administrator.
Respond affirmatively to all the warnings that appear.

I did that and the browse dialog then allows me to select all drives and folders on my computer, as it should and always has done in normal mode previously.

    Good luck.
