    NX2 Question

When I go to Lasso and create a shape (say a simple circle) and I use (+) and I click I get no colour mask in the circle - same thing if I click (-) I don't get any colour mask showing.
    Anyone have any suggestions?

What software, Gary -- Photoshop? Might help too if you provide more detail: what do you mean color mask?

G, the "NX2" in the title refers to Nikon Capture NX2, Nikon's own image-editing software. It's largest advantage over PS (IMO) is it's control-point technology that isn't available in PS without the addition of Nik Software's Viveza plug-in. The biggest disadvantage (again, IMO) is that it only handles Nikon Raw formats- which makes sense, considering.

    Re: NX2 Question

Control points are a way of making incredibly complex masks with a few simple clicks of the mouse. It's color-based selections the way they should be, without all the coomplexities that you're used to from PS.

Here's a review of the Viveza plug-in that explains it much better that I can. I will add though, that until you've tried this, it's hard to grasp how useful and functional it is:
