Need Help Cleaning Up!

I need an idea on a fast way to remove scuff marks from a white floor. I have been using the magic wand in PS, but I find that it doesn't work so well when surrounding areas are also scuffed. This is w/ either the Proximity Match or Content Aware selection.

Also, assuming it was working, what's a faster way to remove them instead of selecting each? (And Content Aware fill don't work here!)

See image below as an example. There's been absolutely no post on it yet besides converting from raw to jpeg, and the floor's a mess.

I did a gaussian blurr on the floor quite heavy so it smeared it good!

it gets complicated when getting close to the wheels or bottom of the stair

Great idea Armando. I thought of this too, but dismissed it for some reason. Your expt shows it is valid and maybe the only way to do it !

My process is a little more intricate than Armando's, but may yield *slightly* better results.

1. select, cut, and paste her and the ladder on a new layer
2. go back down to the original layer and use the patch tool, dragging the floor up to the light section of the wall in small sections (I did this in 4)
3. re-patch around any odd seams between patch sections
4. add a new layer and paint the shadows from the ladder back into the floor (don't be too concerned with precision)
5. Use Gaussian blur to soften the shadows
6. re-merge layers back together and continue processing

You guys are SCARY .. I now feel like a baby crawling in the woods. Thanks and I will try your suggestions tonight or tomorrow.

I'm sure I will learn a lot at the Photoshop convention!!!
