    Masking with Fluid Mask 3

Saw a demo of a software application called Fluid Mask over the weekend. A company was selling it along with their backdrop image DVDs. Pretty impressive app.. I've only gotten my feet wet, but it can very quickly mask off a subject for insertion into another image having the background you want.

Here's a few expts I did today. The models are ones I've photographed. It also works as a plug-in for PS though I haven't tried that yet.

The Photoshop plug-in works just as well. One of those add-ons that a professional should at least consider.

Fluid Mask is amazing. I didn't bother to update to 3 until recently, but it makes life so much easier than the annoying "extract" filter in Adobe Photoshop CS4's "goodies" folder in the DVD. Also, it has a smart feather feature that allows you to more naturally blend in your subject. Worth every penny.

Yep, I think PS should buy it and integrate it into the main PS.

I still haven't used it as a plug-in yet though .. sooooooooo lazy

But think of all that time you save not having to reimport if you use the plug-in vs. standalone...
