    Making a dvd slideshow

okay, I have done this many times before, but never really put much thought into in before hand. The final output will be a dvd designed for a 4:3 screen.

What resolution should I use for my pictures?? Should I resize all the images to a max height of 480? And is this easy to do in bridge, ps, or premier. or acdsee. Or should I just let premier do the conversions?

    Re: Making a dvd slideshow

My innitial instinct, based off using premiere elements 4 for video work (in game video game clips) is to say resize first. then you don't have to worry about Premiere throwing out image quality to get the size you want. Any time I have changed the size of a video it's been obvious. Maybe you could do a test though, resize a couple pics and render a video from them, and also render a video with the full size versions of the same pics and see what the difference is.

It seems (unless I am doing something wrong) that I have to re size the pictures before. I have actually never used premier for this purpose. When I imported them images and slapped them on a timeline it just showed me a portion of the image, causeing me to have to zoom in or out for each picture. I am other programs that are for beginners that I think I will use to make a bunch of small sections and than use premier to put them all together. Also ACDSEE has a great resize tool.
