    Good pse tutorials on layers

I googled photoshop layers tutorials and got 1,650,000 hits.

Just wondering if anyone has a recommendation ?
I've messed around with layers but really don't know what I'm doing and would like to learn.
    Thank you for any help!

I could also use a good tutorial.. (there's a lot of mediocre ones out there).

Re: Good pse tutorials on layers

You may have looked at this refined search from ADOBE about layers in Elements (it is showing PSE 8 but you can change the search).

    http://community.adobe.com/help/sear...en_US&hl=en_US

Go right to the source I always say to begin. This contains references to community content as well as the online help.

There are many different applications of layers and techniques that use them and one near the top reference that is a good place to start is:

    http://help.adobe.com/en_US/Photosho...-7fae_WIN.html

Now this is not a video tutorial, just a help page, but it rather succinctly defines what layers are, can do, etc.

Search the links and blogs from Adobe and you may be surprised at the amount of information that is readily available. If something else jumps out let everybody know!

    Thank you, drg.
I will definitly give it a try though I often find the adobe tutorials assume we know what they're talking about. Gotta start somewhere.

Re: Good pse tutorials on layers

I book I forgot about and is an alternative to the 'standards' is Matt Kloskowski's "Layers: The Complete Guide to Photoshop's Most Powerful Feature"

This book has a fairly good step by step procedure format for basic to advanced techniques and how they interact. Good introduction to working with multiple layers.
