OK...trying to take baby steps here and learn how to put my travel slides into a show to play on TV via DVD.
I am using Microsoft Movie Maker (a basic way to learn the process, I think) in Windows XP. I put together a show of about 300 slide images (sizes are around 1.5 -1.8mb). I know that this is a pretty big size show but I was told I could do it. Anyway, I have put the show together using only cuts between slides for the time being. When I open the program to work on it, load time to get it running with images is over 5 minutes.
When I try to use the "save to computer function" and select the "best quality for play on computer" mode, I get a message about file size exceeding (BAT?) some parameters. OK...then I try other options and am presented a rather bewildering array of save options including NTSC (which I am familiar with, but it says I can't use that either). I finally selected "high quality video (small) and got it to save. When I play it back it looks awful...lousy resolution, lousy color tracking, etc.
I could use some help on this. Are my file sizes too big and should I reduce them before editing? What save mode should I select to simply make a slide show and burn a DVD to play on a TV set?
I'm sure that I'm missing something , but I spent many years in the video production world simply pressing "Record" and having stuff get saved! :mad2:
I will appreciate suggestions and or criticisms. TED
