    DxO
    Does anyone here use DxO?
Or has anyone here downloaded, tried, and abandoned it as I did?

I found it about 1/4 the speed of Lightroom, far to slow to be in any way flowing as part of a workflow, even on a quad gore 2h5GHz machine where Lightroom runs fine.
DxO seems to be about as slow as the Olympus Viewer 2, which isn't saying much good for either of them.
Terribly slow in rendering the thumbnails, and seemed to need to re-render them while viewing. OK Lightroom does that if I haven't viewed the thumbnails for a year - but LR is far quicker at recalculating.

I've given up on DxO, they may be adding many more of the micro four thirds lenses with the OM-D E-M5 in August, so that lens adjustments like CA work, but I'm not waiting for that. I've already uninstalled DxO.

    What's your experience?

Never used or even heard of it, and your post doesn't sound very promising.

I just visited their website and they appear to be a post-processing/lens-correction/post-processing software developer. So many of these on the market now.

Most seem to work and perform slightly different than the others though, usually excelling in one area and failing in another. Would be great to have a good review of each here, to know the pros and cons.

I've tried it in the past, and I do know some folks do really like it. Until recently at least, they were the leader in lens/optics corrections in post processing, really pushing Adobe to do a better job in this area. Some folks liked it's handling of RAW ISO based noise a bit better than ACR, but that's always a taste type thing...

In general, last time I played with it I found it notably slower for doing my normal Lightroom type tasks... I was thinking of testing out the latest version just to see how they are doing, but I guess I really don't need to if the performance hasn't changed...

They seem to have carved out their own little following, and they are getting better, but.... It's not for everyone...

So what do you think will make it perform better, more memory or more CPUs ?
