    cs3/cs4

    hi can you explain in simple terms the differance between sc3/cs4.
    at the moment i am running cs3 on a hp 4600 with xp ,500gig h/d .,4gig ram
    what machine updates & hard wair will be required

    Hi Paul -

    It might help to state which software you mean. Photoshop? Dreamweaver? There are several CS3s and CS4s out there. Regardless, I think your hardware is fine for any CS4 programs.

    if you have a look at adobe.com they currently have a page devoted to reasons to upgrade. I was using design standard cs3 (so had photoshop, illustrator, indesign, acrobat, bridge and all the other little goodies that come with the bundles as opposed to the standalone applications) I also had cs 1.5 of the production bundle, so I upgraded to the cs4 master collection and am loving it. A lot of the improvements for me come from the integration of the various apps rather than an extension of individual features, so if I was comparing the upgrading of each app I would be waiting but as a package it was well worth it. Also the jump from premier and encore 1.5 to cs4 has improved my productivity greatly.
