Creating a Photoshop action??? HELP!?

I have PS CS3 and need to create an action.
I have a several files I want to re size, and that's all.
They are all oriented the same way, so all I need is the one command.

Brian, you shouldn't need to write an action for this. Look for something (a script, to be precise) called Image Processor. In CS2 on a Mac, it's under File> Scripts> Image Processor. I realize that doesn't help much, but it might give you an idea of where to look.

Anyway, Image Processor can accomplish a lot of stuff, not the least of which is resizing (assuming that you want all the images the same size). It will even give you your choice of output formats: psd, jpeg, or tiff.

or use image resizer...the windows power toy....hold cntrl and click all the ones you want re-sized which will highlight all of them and then use the resizer.
Unless I'm not getting what you're saying or doing.

Hey Brian,

Joe's idea of using the image processor in PS is going to be the easiest way to do this I think. I use it all the time. I open Bridge, and then highlight all of the files I want process. Then go to Tools > Photoshop > Image Processor. Select where you want the files saved, the file type (jpeg, psd or tiff), then type the size you want. If you want them all to be 800 pixels on the longest side, then type 800 in both boxes. Click RUN and PS does the rest.

Or do actually do it in PS, you can open one or all of your images, then hit the "record" button in the Actions Palette. If they're all the same size, goto Image -> Image Size & set the size you want. Then hit the stop button. Then just select each image & run the action.

You could take it a step farther by specifiying a place to save them as well.
