Brand new to the forum - can you help me?

Hi, I'm brand new to this forum, and I'm not quite sure if this is in the scope of the site, or if this is in the right place, so please excuse me if I'm wrong.

I came across a picture the other day that is of 4 generations (me, my mom, my grandmother, and my great grandmother). I love the photo, but unfortunately, there is a huge blur in the middle. I have Adobe Photoshop Elements 6 for Mac. How can I fix it? Can I fix it? Thank you so mucH!

I took a look at the photo. Those spots look like the camera had light leaks. It's also possible that the print wasn't washed well or something and it's fading. Regardless, it probably can be improved. If you search "photo restoration" on Google you'll find lots of business that will be able to fix it for you. If you want to do it yourself, Photoshop has all the tools you need. And if you want someone else to do it for you, maybe someone here will volunteer. It would be a challenging project for someone just starting to mess around with photo restoration.

I agree that it would be a somewhat challenging job, but I've said that about other projects that other people have done in 20 minutes. As Photo-john says, an expert is needed. I would have to do it clone by clone, pixel by pixel, .. not very efficient. Good luck.

CLONING is not the way to fix that photograph !! sorry I mean no offense at all.

This photograph is fixed in the same manner as it was done in the old days using a 'brush' to 'stipple' !!

you can do the same exact method in photoshop !!

I can show you a photograph here where a complete rookie with no experience at all on a computer or in photography. A 50 year old Eskimo with absolutely no prior experience in photography - processing or even on a computer. All she did was listen to the words I spoke. I did not show her what to do - I merely spoke some words and she did exactly what I told her to do. It requred her hours to fix this photograph - I had her do this - just to prove a point !!

These are the words I spoke to her. Pick the smallest spot you can find > zoom in as far as you can using the magnifier tool > take a color sample of the area with your eyedropper tool > using the brush tool, fill in that area with 'dots' (stipple the brush).

Z00m out & check your work!!!

here are the before and after images

You can easily do the exact same thing, it is time consuming and tedious - but this is a huge business in photorestoration. Lots of money can easily be made in this field !!

Your images aren't showing up for me.
If I use AdBlockPlus and find the image link, when I try to open it in a new tab I get:
    Forbidden

You don't have permission to access /After.jpg on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

    hmmm that is strange indeed.

The only way a person can get that message in trying to access my server is if they have spammed me and I block that particular IP.

ALTHOUGH, I might be the guilty party here, if I remember correctly I blocked a whole range of ip's back a while ago. let me clear that and see if that helps !!

can you give me the first octect of your ip ??
