    Black River Imaging/Sports America

This football season I have to switch printers to one I can make portrait packages on. Unfortunately SmugMug doesn't offer this feature. Switching printers makes me so nervous!

So I'm wondering if anyone has done biz with Black River Imaging/Sports America?

I have to use a printer who will make up my money envelopes, give me the ability to make packages of my choosing etc. I just detest making change though....

Thoughts and feedback welcome as always!

    Hi,
I do business with Black River Imaging (Sports America) and Filmet.
I prefer Filmet to Black River Imaging these days, but for both of these businesses I believe they require that you have a business license.

FIlmet offers more in the "junk" department. (Wheaties boxes, Snow Flake ornaments, etc.)

Email me if you have further questions:

    Thank you for the reply.

Do you do high volume? Can you tell me more about how to simplify offering portrait packages.

I couldn't make heads nor tails of black rivers software so I think I'm going to go with Miller's at this point. http://www.millerslab.com/

Sorry, I can't help you with any of these companies because I haven't used any of them. When you mentioned Millers, Mpix came to mind. Mpix is the "consumer" division of Millers and they have partnered with Zenfolio to create online hosting and e-commerce for photographers. I haven't used this feature, but I'm very happy with the prints I get from mpix.

Pictage is another order fulfillment company that I have heard good things about as well, but I have never used them either.

    Thanks Mike!

I have a smugmug website and all my customers once they order portrait packages can get additional prints there.

I'm looking for a printer I can set up different packages in for the ordering I'll do of the initial portraits. I shoot approximately 400 players so I need an printer who will allow me to set up packages to make my ordering easier. I also need this printer to package all of my packages for me. My customers won't be using this printer for website sales. They'll use my smugmug site.

Does mpix let you make up portrait packages. I'm not sure why, but I tend to go in circles there and can't find the answer.

Thank you for any mpix clarity.

Not that I know of. I haven't look into what they are offering with their partnership with Zenfolio though. Everything I have gotten from Mpix was basically selected and ordered "manually" for lack of a better word. With the amount of players you're shooting, that could take a lot of time so I can understand why you're looking for a simpler solution.

TY! This helps because knowing who can do what as a printer is huge.

Last year I offered one flat package and that made ordering easy. This year the younger players parents want more selection so that forced me to start looking.

I've already got samples from Millers and took a class and am signed up for another. I'm impressed so far. I just wish they made money envelopes too.
