Adobe has an online promo code for $100 off on Lightroom 2 right now. Go to the Adobe store Lightroom 2 page and use this promo code when you checkout: "Lightroom100"

I'm not sure how long this offer is good but someone I know used the promo code earlier today. If you've been thinking about getting Lightroom, I don't think you're gonna get a better price. It also means you'll be able to get the upgrade price when Lightroom 3 comes out. It's sort of a wash with the savings there. But you'll be up and running with Lightroom right now instead of having to wait, if that's what you were doing.

The savings and upgrade path may not save you much money, but it will get you started quicker for those who haven't worked with Lightroom yet.

Save your pennies for the Adobe Manuals, you're gonna need them with LR3! Avoid the third party throw together quick manuals. If the LR2 books and guides are any indication the non Adobe books won't be worth much for awhile. There is still stuff floating around that just plain doesn't work including 'Bibles and Refernce Guides" from a couple of the 'Big guys' in this market.
