    A Vampire

When the topic of this forum first came up I was sure that I would not be posting here. At least not anytime soon. However, after reading the threads here so far, I have decided to just dive in.

That being siad, I am not an artist. I have no illusions about that. I have never considered myself to be an artist. As a photographer I seek to document the natural and urban worlds, and to a lesser degree the conflicts and partnerships created by the ever ongoing blending of the two. This is what I do, and It is what I love. If art should come of this I would consider it a bonus.

On occasion I like to toy with an image digitally. I like to see if I can take them farther. I like to see if I can change the meaning, or add a new emotion. I do not claim to be any good at this, but I do sometimes end up with an image that I am happy with. This is one of the rare cases that I actually took a photo in order to create a peice of art from it.

This image and a few others like it were inspired by a story I wrote a few years back. It was a very intense experience for me writing the story and so the images have a lot of personal meaning to me. The invoke dream like fantasies about the world of vampires when I look at them.

Almo, I really like this piece.... Well done!
It does convey a little "evilness" doesn't it?

Almo, I've been looking at this off and on all day trying to figure out what to say. First of all, I'm one who hates vampires. It grosses me out..the blood thing. And I don't care for looking at evil stuff. I don't even see freaky movies because, well it scares the heck out of me.
That being said, I think you did what you started out to do. It looks very vampirish. Very freaky. very sick. are you happy? lol

If you mean, am I happy with it? Then yes. I think it gets the point across.

    Re: A Vampire

I saw the photo yesterday, but only today I formed an opinion on it. Yes, it is clearly artistic. Does it work for me? No. The reason why I do not like it is because the whole vampire thing is so frequently brought up for such a long period of time that it needs to be re-interpreted in some way in order not to be a cliche. I personally would not approach this theme without a bit of self-irony (this is not a panacea-type prescription, of course).
